 APPEAL FOR THE RENOVATION OF

THE CHAPEL OF THE RESURRECTION

Peace and Goodwill to you and your family!

Twenty eight (28) years ago, a small group of dedicated Catholics, with a vision for a parish in a remote barangay in Lingayen, Pangasinan, planted a seed. Providentially, this seed fell upon fertile ground and it blossomed.

While many cathedrals and many churches are closing or being sold abroad, we have with us in this barangay, a beehive of community activity where the parishioners blessedly receive the sacramental grace of Catholic Masses without having to travel far.

The Chapel of the Resurrection in Barangay Baay, Lingayen, Pangasinan was consecrated by His Excellency Archbishop Oscar Cruz, D.D in April 11, 1993.

We have placed great emphasis on attracting and building our number of youth members, as we believe that the youth in any church is of utmost importance since they are the future generation! The parish is now experiencing a steady growth of churchgoers, particularly young people, which in time will necessitate an expansion of the sanctuary and its seating capacity by at least 30%.

Sadly, the physical condition of the church today is not in an ideal situation due to the effects of the elements where re-roofing becomes necessary.   Termite treatment and structural repairs are now a constant drain on the maintenance budget. Roof frames has to be changed from wood to steel and most of the columns have to be retrofitted with steel sheets.

As we have formally turned over the chapel complex and convent (donated by our firm BBS & Associates) to the Archdiocese of Lingayen under the care of His Excellency Archbishop Socrates Villegas, D.D., Bishop of Lingayen-Dagupan Diocese and CBCP president, we have also been entrusted through his endorsement, to raise funds in collaboration with the “Bahay ng Dios” Foundation whose advocacy is to help in the reconstruction of Churches. Building plan have been submitted and the estimated project cost is Php 8,931,007.89.

It is for this reason that we have to appeal to you for help. The barangay has to come up with its own counterpart budget apart from the “bayanihan” efforts offered by the residents whose source of income is mainly farming and fishing which is not much. With our meager resources, we are committed to raise the actual cost and the rest, we pray, will be from your generous support. We will appreciate whatever amount or help you can give for the realization of this humble project.

We have affiliated with the Pangasinan Brotherhood USA, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization recognized by US Internal Revenue Service for tax deductible donation. You may send your donations to :

Other than the community prayers, the many rosaries, and the novenas for our patrons, we do not know how else we will be able to repay your kindness. Thank you.
