CHRONOLOGY OF EVENTS

1940's​                           -  Conceived by the parents of Baay.

​

1981                               -  Start of re-organization of the residents in Baay

​

February 11, 1990         -  Consultative Assembly of all Baay residents

                                          under Rev. fr. Bobits Batecan

​

March 1991                   -  Planning completed and construction started

​

                                     -   IMAGES OF RISEN LORD in cast bronze (head,arms and feet)                                              done by sculptor Gil Corcuerra-Manila. Main body sculptured                                              by Ros Arcilla. Seven (7) feet image of CRUCIFIED CHRIST                                                   scupltured by Teresito Papeleros is done in a solid piece of                                                 baticulin wood depicting the actual location of wounds.

                                     -  OUR LADY OF BAAY IMAGE (donated by an unknown                                                          benefactor), 14 STATIONS of the CROSS, The LAST SUPPER                                               and the RESURRECTION took 4 months to make. Medium:                                                  Glass, Resin and oil, sourced in Hongkong. Painted by U.P.                                                 (University of the Philippines) FIne Arts Students: Norman                                                    Dreo, Omar Sebastian, Cris Soguillon, Grandier Gil Bella and                                              Jasper de Leon. RELICS sourced from Monasterio Agostiniano                                            di. S. Lucia in Rome, includes that of Sts. Peter and Paul, St.                                                 John, St. Therese of the Child Jesus, St. John the Baptist,                                                     Padre Pio, St. Therese de Avila and more.      

                                          All embedded on the altar table.

                                     -  OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE image donated by the Society of                                             Guadalupe of Pampanga through the initiative of Esperanza                                                Castaneda, a resident of Cubao, Metro Manila.

​

                                    -  Two by Five meter (2X5m) mural. Oil painting in "sawali" of the                                              story of the building of the church by award winning artist,

                                         Norman Dreo. 

 

1995                           -  Best design award for religious category during the United                                                    Architects of the Philippines Convention.
